The following is a list of recommended eateries that should be helpful to both residents and visitors to our fair city.

Albertsons
The main outlet for Kosher food in Portland is Albertsons Market, located at 5415 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway, corner Shattuck Road, 503-246-1713. The store is approximately a 10 minute drive (traffic permitting) from the southern end of the downtown area, where the shul is located.

Albertsons offers the following to the Kosher consumer, over and beyond the many kosher products that can be found at any large supermarket.
Kosher Deli - The Albertsons has a full line kosher deli, staffed by a full time Shomer Shabbos Mashgiach Temidi, where one can purchase fresh made salads, deli meats, rotisserie barbecued chicken, and many other items. The deli also makes sandwiches to go, and will prepare platters for parties small to mid-size.
Kosher Bakery - Albertsons at this location has a full line Pareve Pas Yisroel Bakery where one can purchase a wide variety of challah, rolls, cakes, breads, donuts, cookies and other standard bakery items. The bakery also takes orders for specialty cakes that are custom decorated for your occasion.
Refrigerated Kosher Section - Large selection of pre-packaged deli meat and cheese and even some Cholov Yisroel items.
Frozen Food Section - Large selection of Dairy, Pareve and meat items including Meal Mart, NY Flying Pizzas, Empire chicken, Tabatchnick soups, and many other items.
Fresh Meat - The store carries a line of Cryovac wrapped fresh chicken and meat, and occasionally has a fresh meat cut by ordering in advance.
Dry Goods - Store has a large alcove in the front of the store dedicated to a large selection of kosher foods from producers including Manischewitz, Streits, Rokeach, and including Gefilte Fish, Soups, Matzoh Meal, Candy, and many other items not typically found in other supermarkets.
Kosher Wine - There is a surprisingly large selection of Kosher wine, including many with a good hechsher, in the corner of the store next to the office.

Cottage Cheese, Sour Cream, - Local brands under a good hechsher are Darigold (Heart-K), and Safeway (Vaad of Seattle). Also acceptable are Alpenrose and Albertsons (Vaad of Massachusetts).
